After a renovation fraught with injuries and setbacks, the Spielmans move in to the century-old house, and their problems quickly escalate. The home’s beautiful facade begins to crumble around them when their teenage son uncovers disturbing details of Rawlingswood’s history—a history of murder, betrayal, and financial ruin. The Spielmans’ own shameful secrets and lies become harder to hide as someone or something inside the house watches their every move.
As tensions build between the family members, the home’s dark history threatens to repeat itself. Margot and Myron must confront their own ghosts and Rawlingswood’s buried past before the house becomes their undoing.

I read this book with the lights on, and I highly suggest you do as well. What a perfectly scary book for the beginning of Spooky Season! A funny thing happened while I was reading this book. It was around 2 am and I was up reading. I work nights, so I am usually up fairly late. I thought I heard the door open.. This seemed fairly odd to me as I live alone.. Apparently my african grey parrot, Sparky thought it would be a good idea to make scary sounds for me… He wanted to add to this book. Not that he needed to, this book was scary enough!
I fell in love with Pulley’s stellar writing and plot. Everything just fit together perfectly. This is one of those books that you will think about days later.. While you are laying in bed..and you hear a bump in the night trying not to look at that weird shadow in the corner of your room.
The concept was incredible, the writing phenomenal, and the scares were enough to make you jumpy for days. Pulley will definitely make my must read list and should make yours too!
